We have spent the past year looking at many homes on the market to find a builder we can trust. It wasn’t until we met James, that we knew he was the right fit. We spent many months watching the market, looking at homes, and attending open houses as well as the Parade of Homes. After carefully considering many options and builders, we ultimately chose to have our home built by James Clyde Custom Homes.

The experience of building a home with James has been amazing. James builds your home with you. He does not build a house for you. He listens, discusses, suggests and in the end builds what you want. Although we may have stretched his imagination at times, he listened to what we said and then produced.

The fact that home prices have come back to a reasonable cost, allowed us the chance to build the home we have dreamed about building. Getting the things that we wanted affordably.

When we moved to the Meridian area in the fall of 2004 we searched for a house and finally decided to build a new one because there are very few houses with a basement. James worked with us to find a lot, which is no easy task in Meridian, and worked with the design we wanted. We had a list of all our requirements and James came up with many additional ideas from which to choose and we are very happy with his suggestions today. James is a good manager and kept the subcontractors on schedule. He worked extensively with us and listened to everything we wanted and either made the change or explained why it would not work. In the end the house was finished on time and within the budget we agreed upon. Today, four years later, we are very happy with the workmanship and quality of the house as we were the day we moved in. We have had very few problems and when we have a problem James will still come by and make suggestions on the repair work. I would not hesitate to ask James to build another house for us if we had a need in the future.

I have worked with James Clyde on several occassions and found him to be a good businessman and very customer service oriented. His plans are fresh, well thought out and a desireable product in the market. What makes him unique as a builder in the area, are the upgrades which are standard in his construction! My clients are consistently wowed with the value and workmanship of his homes. It's very satisfying for me to see my clients' pride of ownership in his homes. He once re-painted the entire inside of a home, to please an ecsentric woman who thought it was a half shade too light, at no extra charge! He is eager to please the buyer and bends over backward in doing it. This is an usual attitude for builders in this area, some of which have tried to duplicate his product! It is a delightful experience to work with his wife, Heather also. She is very intuitive and has a real knack for design and color. Their model homes are great to show, because every room is staged and look like a designer magazine. That is the kind of attention to detail they both share. I can honestly say that they really care about the client and their homes, and find enjoyment in making them happy!

We looked at literally hundreds of homes all over the valley and when it came down to the last choice, Clyde's home was between 50-100k less than other homes we looked at and was twice as nice..
